SEA LIFE Aquarium at Crown Center
Groundbreaking events recently occurred for both the upcoming SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND® Discovery Center which will be opening this Spring 2012 at Crown Center.
Initial plans call for a two-story aquarium housing more than 30 spectacular displays of diverse marine life for visitors to enjoy—everything from shrimp and starfish to seahorses, sharks and rays.
A stunning centerpiece will be a huge tropical ocean tank with a walk-through underwater tunnel. The attraction will take visitors on 2-3 hour journey from the fresh waters of the Missouri River to the warm blue coral of the Caribbean and the dark abyss of the Atlantic Ocean.
During its groundbreaking, Kansas City Mayor, Sly James, declared October 19, 2011 “K-Sea Day” in celebration of this fantastic new attraction in the metro.
